a collaboration with Bonnie Ferrill Roman
Working together so that our respective processes layer and commingle, handmade-paper-and-branch artist Bonnie Ferrill Roman and I created intricate hybrid forms that explore fecundity in all its guises. During a shared afternoon in her studio, Bonnie remarked, “In collaborative work, there is a lot of structure and planning, but then there is the time that things actually happen.” It is that magical time of conjoining and progeneration, whether intellectual, artistic, or physical, that is celebrated in Cross-Pollination.
