I love thunderstorms. Always have. I grew up in Texas, where rumbling, flashing storms dominate the summer sky. My mom and I would watch eagerly as fantastic sooty clouds rolled in, furious and nimble, trailing the scent of rain. For us, it was like the circus coming to town, a front-row seat to the most amazing show on Earth, and we never tired of it. That feeling of electric anticipation and then the enjoyment of something unpredictable, even a bit dangerous, has stayed with me and drives many desires.
